We were very proud to have three club members participate in the 2022 World Rowing Masters Regatta in Libourne, France last week.
Paula Moloney, Jim Breen and James Morris put in hours of training and preparation to reach the competitive level needed to race against the very best masters rowers from all over the world.

Conditions were perfect and Jim, Paula & James enjoyed a fabulous week of racing representing TRC and supporting other Irish Rowers.

Paula had a photo finish in her age category 1x race, coming 0.04 seconds off 1st place. She was delighted to achieve a personal best time.
She also had the pleasure of rowing a 2x with Sharon Coen, formerly Athlone , currently St Andrew’s Boat Club, they placed 6th in their race which was a fast ‘B’ category. Sharon is a former Scottish 1x National Champion and GB Squad member, coming back into the Irish Masters scene.
Paula also secured an impressive 3rd place in the women’s ‘C’ 2x category, this time rowing with Sally Cudmore from Lee Rowing Club in Cork.

Jim and James also did exceptionally well. They achieved 2nd place in their ‘C’ category 8. James placed 3rd in his composite 2x with Gary Quin from Shandon BC and
Jim was delighted with 2nd place in his 1x race.

TRC are very proud of the effort and dedication of these rowers, they’re an inspiration to the club and we were delighted to see the Club represented on a world stage.
